Project overview
This client was looking to refresh his open-concept main floor and create a space that truly reflected his lifestyle. The design focused on opening up the flow, introducing a lighter and more cohesive palette, and ensuring there was ample room to showcase his collection of plants. The result is a functional, airy space that balances modern comfort with a touch of greenery at every turn.
Sustainable elements
Existing Cabinets Refreshed – Kept the original cabinets, updated with fresh paint and new hardware to reduce waste.
Energy-Efficient Appliances – Retained existing Energy Star–rated appliances for sustainability and efficiency.
Water-Saving Faucet – Installed a WaterSense certified faucet to conserve water.
Natural Hardwood Flooring – Durable, eco-friendly flooring sourced from responsibly managed forests.
LED Lighting – Energy-efficient fixtures that reduce electricity usage.
Custom Roman Shade – Made from natural materials, free of PVC and synthetic fabrics.
Abundant Plant Space – Designed to accommodate a thriving indoor plant collection.
“This was my first time working with Alex on a project. I thought my needs and wants would be too peculiar and my space too small to be worth the effort. I am a plant person and needed a lot of space and light for my collection. Alex did not disappoint. I did not go with the setup and installation for the design but I will be slowly implementing it myself over time.
